Lessons at Sewing with Grace will introduce students to a wide variety of sewing techniques and provide a fun environment for creating new friendships! Lessons are carefully designed to grow with each individual’s skill level while working at their own pace. Students will learn how to fully navigate their sewing machine, how to read a pattern, install a zipper, hem, problem solve and so much more! Click below to find a class that suits your schedule!
A steep driveway and stairs lead to my classroom! Please be sure you bring your supplies in an adequate carry bag.
Do we need to provide our own sewing machine?
Nope! Although you are welcome to bring your own, just keep in mind stairs lead to my classroom. Sewing machines, Pins, rulers, scissors and other necessary sewing items will be provided during class time. Students will need to supply their own Fabric and Notions (Zippers, Buttons etc.) After the first few classes students are appreciated to bring their own supplies from our supply list.
May I stay with my child during class?
Students are kept focused with my instruction to guide them through all lessons. When parents or guardians are present, children tend to be distracted and their attention is split. Their concentration and confidence level goes down. You are welcome to check in on your child but it's suggested students take classes independently.
Do you take breaks throughout the sewing school year?
Yes, we will always take a break in the month of December and some Summers. Classes are scheduled around major holidays like July 4th, Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas. You can always access the sewing session calendar here
Do Boys attend sewing classes?
Yes! Boys love to sew! We have lots of projects for boys to enjoy including— Pillows, drawstring backpacks, stuffed animals and more! After completion of our list students are able to pick out their own patterns.
What is your refund policy?
Tuition is none refundable. There are no refunds, discounts or make-up days given to those who miss class. However, if myself (the instructor) is to miss class another day will be provided to make it up.
What if we have inclement weather?
We follow the CMS school schedule for snow days/inclement weather. If CMS cancels school, we will also have no class that day. This information will be announced on the Sewing with Grace Facebook page. You may also be contacted directly with this information, however, it is ultimately your responsibility to check the Facebook page for any class announcements. In the event we have to cancel a class due to inclement weather, unfortunately we are not able to make that class up. However we do always have a one makeup day offered at the end of each session.
What if I miss a class?
If your student misses a class they will be added to our make-up day at the end of the session. Make-up days are held the following week of the last class at your regular class time. Make-up days are to catch up on one class only. If more than one class is missed unfortunately it will not be made up.
